How Does The Program Work

If you have chosen to complete our program, you are required to complete 10 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving with a certified driving instructor.
The 10 hours of classroom instruction is divided into two days. Once you have completed 10 hours of classroom instruction, you can schedule your 3 appointments behind the wheel, which will be completed in two-hour sessions to complete the six hours behind the wheel. You can schedule your driving hours Monday through Saturday, 7:00 A.M.-5:30 P.M.
If you selected a different package other than just the basic package, additional hours of driving, driving practice, and driving test can be scheduled as well, see your package selection for more details or ask our office manager if help is needed.
Once you complete our program, a certificate of completion will be issued, you can take the certificate of completion to any Tag Agency or a Service Oklahoma facility to obtain your driving permit.
Bison Driving School gives out complimentary donuts, snacks, and drinks to students for both days of classroom instruction.
The lunch fee is ten dollars, however if you or a legal parent like us or follow us on any of our social media platforms under Bison Driving School, lunch will be provided for students for both days. Don’t forget to save ten dollars by liking or following us.

How Old Do You Have to Be to Start Driver Education?

You can start as soon as you turn 15 years of age, but you cannot obtain your driving permit until you are 15 ½ years of age with driver’s education completed.

Can I Drive by Myself With Only My Driving Permit?

No, you cannot drive by yourself with only a driving permit, a person over the age of 21 must be sitting in the front seat.

When Can I Take My Driving Test?

If you are under the age of 18, you are required to have your permit for six months before you are eligible to take your driving test.

Can I Take My Test Sooner Than the Six Months Required?

No, you cannot. You must have your permit for six months if you are under the age of 18 years of age.

How Can I Bypass the Written Test?

By completing Basic Driver Education.

Can I Bypass the Driving Test?

No, You cannot. You must prove that you have the required skills to operate a vehicle. You must show that you can drive safely and legally on the streets.

If I Am Over the Age of 18, Do I Need to Hold My Permit for 6 Months Also?

No, you are eligible to take your driving test 30 days after you obtain your driving permit.

Can I Choose My Driving Instructor?

Yes, you can choose your driving instructor. We currently have two female instructors and two male instructors; you can choose who you want to drive with.

Do I Have to Complete the Work Zone Safe Course Before Taking the Test or After?

If you are under the age of 18, you must complete the work zone safe course before going to the tag agency or a service Oklahoma facility. However, you can take your driving test without it, but preferably to be completed before the driving test.

How Many Hours Do I Have to Drive With My Parents?

50 hours total, 40 daytime and 10 hours nighttime.
